Our Stylist Says
I love this sofa for its versatility and comfort, making it a practical choice for both relaxed living rooms and more contemporary spaces. Its fixed and reclining options add a layer of flexibility, perfect for cosy nights or accommodating guests. It works well in interiors with neutral tones or subtle colour schemes, acting as a calming focal point. For styling, consider pairing it with layered textiles like soft throws and cushions to invite comfort, and keep surrounding accessories minimal to highlight its sleek design. Positioning it near large windows, as shown here, helps maximise natural light, creating an airy and inviting atmosphere. This sofa is a great all-rounder that balances style with practicality, especially in family-friendly or busy living areas.

Centuries of History and Growth
Downtown isn't just another store; they're a company with over two centuries of history! The journey began in the Lincolnshire town of Boston in 1804, when visionaries John Oldrid and Richard Hyde started their retail adventure by purchasing a modest retail unit.
The timeline of their growth is nothing short of impressive. From the launch of Downtown Boston in 1981, the grand opening of Downtown Grantham in 1989, to the launch of their transactional website in 2009, Downtown has evolved and adapted while preserving its essence.
Today, they proudly operate successful stores in Grantham and Boston, complemented by an expansive garden centre, continuing their tradition as a family-owned business that has thrived for over 200 years.
Unrivalled Selections and Expertise
When one thinks of Downtown, variety and quality come to mind. From exquisite furniture brands like Stressless, Parker Knoll, and Ercol to household names such as Smeg, KitchenAid, and Dyson, the store offers an expansive range catering to every need and desire.
Whether one is revamping their garden, refreshing their home interiors, or searching for the latest fashion brands like Barbour and Joules, Downtown is the ultimate destination.
Digital Presence and Personal Touch
Understanding the evolving needs of their customers, Downtown has established a strong online presence. Their website showcases over 20,000 products, offering the convenience of browsing from home and either opting for click-and-collect from their Grantham site or delivery across the UK.
The entire process, from warehousing to distribution, is managed from the Grantham site, ensuring seamless service. And it's not just about transactions; it's about building relationships.
With a team that takes pride in every order and goes the extra mile, the personal touch that Downtown offers is unparalleled. Their family ethos and dedication to customer satisfaction truly distinguish this independent business from the rest.
