Description

Designed by Gam. Fratesi, The Epic Dining Table is a sculptural form inspired by Greek columns and Roman architecture, brought to life by Copenhagen-based manufacturer GUBI. Named for the epic poems of ancient times, the table displays the natural beauty of travertine stone, highlighting its veins and texture. Combining two simple geometric shapes, the monolithic form references classical columns. As noted by Danish-Italian design duo Gam. Fratesi, Without material there is no soul. Positioning the material at the centre of the project is an intellectual act and celebrating unusual stones and natural finishes is aligned with our practice and GUBI's cerebral and contemporary take on the traditional.

Our Stylist Says

This black dining table offers a sleek, modern look that works well in contemporary or minimalist interiors. Its bold midnight black finish makes it a versatile piece, pairing effortlessly with both colour-rich and neutral decor palettes. I love how its clean lines create a striking yet understated statement. For styling, consider adding warm metallic accessories or textured seating to soften the overall vibe. It’s also practical for smaller spaces thanks to its 130cm size, making it perfect for intimate gatherings or everyday dining. Pair it with upholstered chairs for a plush feel or mix in some contrast with natural wood or colourful cushions for added personality.
