Rings which float freely in space, surrounded by a halo of gentle light. A real light sculpture, this mysterious pendant makes its pure and graphical presence felt in large spaces (Ø 42 x H 74 cm). The shade is made up of four acrylic rings connected to one another by acrylic steel cords and topped by a conical diffuser containing the light source. This new black version immerses you in a calm and serene ambiance by shaping and channelling the light. Created by the Japanese designer, Shoichi Uchiyama, the Enigma pendant takes its inspiration from Japanese lighting culture, which favours discretion and lightness.
I love how the Enigma pendant combines modern minimalism with a sculptural quality, making it a statement piece in both contemporary and industrial interiors. Its sleek black finish adds a touch of sophistication, while the layered, disc-like design offers a practical yet elegant way to diffuse light. It works particularly well over dining tables, kitchen islands, or in open-plan living spaces, where its vertical form can fill and elevate the ceiling. For styling, consider pairing it with monochrome or neutral colour schemes to let the pendant stand out, or integrate it into a layered lighting scheme with wall lights or table lamps for added ambience. Its size and shape also make it adaptable to both high and lower ceilings, adding visual interest without overwhelming the space.
