Exuberant, variegated and colourful, the Swirl side table harks back to the Italian Memphis movement, created in 1981 by Ettore Sottsass. Swirl's pop sensibility is expressed through an asymmetrical assembly of geometric elements of various shapes, colours and prints. These disparate, stacked elements form a sculptural table, a sort of modern totem. The Swirl table is made from an innovative, mysterious material that has the look of marbled paper and the weight of stone... The famous British designer Tom Dixon pursues his artistic research inspired by post-consumer processes, the phenomenon of waste and its management, and used material recycling practices. The Swirl collection is made up of a material that imitates marble, made from industrial waste: recycled marble powder from sawmills. This powder is mixed with coloured pigments and resin. The material is then cut and turned by hand. The marble pattern provides superb mineral decoration. With its patchwork of cheerful shapes and colours, the Swirl side table injects a good dose of joy into our homes. Because of the pigmentation process, each piece has a unique pattern. A collection of tables, each with its own colouring and personality.
