I’m a fan of the Empress bed for its clean, polished-metal frame and subtle Victorian details - it brings just enough character without overwhelming a room. Its light, airy build works equally well in a pared-back Scandi scheme or a more traditional setting, and the reflective finish helps a smaller bedroom feel brighter.
For styling, layer neutral linens with a textured grey throw and a couple of velvet or linen cushions in muted tones. Keep bedside tables simple - a slim lamp, a small plant and a slim-line tray for essentials - so the frame remains the star and the overall look stays streamlined.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
