Description

Contemporary lighting design for your interior décor with the Emile Semi Flush Ceiling Light with Smoked and Opal Glass Shades. This ceiling light comes in a beautiful brass finish for an art deco vibe and features a collection of spherical shades for an abstract appearance. It also looks ideal in any hallway, bedroom or landing and has half opal glass half ribbed smoke glass shades for a unique look and an atmospheric glow projected outwards.

Our Stylist Says

I love this semi-flush ceiling light for its versatile mix of smoked and opal glass shades paired with satin brass; it strikes a balance between contemporary and retro influences. It works particularly well in modern, mid-century-inspired interiors or transitional spaces where lighting plays a key decorative role. Practical styling tips include pairing it with other brass accents or minimalist furniture to highlight its sleek design, and positioning it in living rooms, hallways, or dining areas where a statement lighting piece can anchor the space. For added impact, consider pairing with dimmable bulbs to create different atmospheres throughout the day.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
