Description

Art deco lighting design for your living room with the Emile Floor Lamp with Smoked and Opal Glass Shades. This floor lamp comes in a stunning brass finish for an opulent aesthetic and features a 4 light design with spherical half opal glass, half ribbed smoke glass for a unique appearance. It also looks ideal when styled next to a couch or chair in a living room, or next to a desk or bed in the bedroom.

Our Stylist Says

I love this lamp for its modern yet versatile design, making it a great statement piece in both contemporary and mid-century inspired interiors. The smoked and opal glass shades provide a soft, diffused glow that creates a warm ambiance, perfect for living rooms or bedrooms. Its satin brass finish adds a touch of luxe that complements metals and warm woods, making it adaptable across various colour schemes. For styling tips, try placing the tall one next to a cosy armchair or in a reading nook, and use the smaller version on side tables or consoles for balanced lighting. Keep accessories minimal around it to let its sculptural form shine, and consider pairing it with other brass accents to create a cohesive look.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
