Our Stylist Says

I love this pendant for its playful yet sophisticated design, making it a versatile choice for a variety of interiors. The smoked and opal glass shades add a subtle colour variation that works well in both contemporary and vintage-inspired spaces. Its satin brass finish offers warmth and elegance, perfect for creating a welcoming atmosphere. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral-toned furnishings to let the light fixture stand out, or hanging it above a dining table or in a central hallway to make a visual statement. For a cohesive look, consider matching it with other brass accents or textured glass accessories to enhance its modern yet timeless appeal.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
