Plate 3 from ‘Variations', Édouard Bénédictus (1878-1930), Paris, 1924 © Victoria and Albert Museum, London. This giclee print has a handmade and hand-finished sustainably sourced solid ash wood frame. Made in the UK by museum specialists and printed on heavyweight, matt-smooth fine art paper, it's ready to hang on your wall. Édouard Bénédictus created beautiful albums of textile and wallpaper designs in the Art Deco style using a simple and vibrant colour replication process called pochoir, a method which had been used since the nineteenth century, most prevalently in France, by artists and craftsmen in the production of limited-edition books, prints and illustrated portfolios. His folios include Variations (1924), Nouvelles Variations (1929) and Relais (1930). French artist Édouard Bénédictus is best known as a talented designer, writer and scientist who produced stylish Art Deco floral works. Involved in the Pavillion de l'Ambassade Francaise in the Exposition des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 1925, he designed textiles for iconic brands of the age. Founded in 1852 to make works of art available to all, today the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) is the world's leading museum of art, design and performance.
