Edith Chandelier

Our Stylist Says

The Edith Chandelier is a smart choice for adding a touch of glamour and sophistication to various interiors. Its chrome finish offers a sleek, contemporary look that works well in modern schemes, while the crystal elements can beautifully catch and reflect light, making it equally suitable for classic or Transitional spaces. For styling, it pairs well with neutral colour palettes to let the shine and crystal details stand out, and it can be an eye-catching feature in dining rooms, living areas, or high-ceilinged foyers. To keep it looking its best, avoid overcrowding the space with other metallic or mirrored finishes, and opt for soft, ambient lighting to highlight its reflective qualities without overpowering the overall aesthetic.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
