For sculpting shadows and light. This wall light makes poetic use of shadow and light, inspired by a lunar eclipse. As soon as the light is switched on, elliptic and circular compositions are projected on the wall. The Eclipse Ellipse wall light consists of two white aluminium discs: one small magnetic disc over another larger disc, like a satellite in orbit. The LED light source is located behind the small disc, the light is then reflected on the large disc creating a beautiful illuminated halo on the wall. The large disc can be tilted. So you can modulate the intensity of the light by changing the position of the discs, increasing either the spectrum of light or shadow to create different effects: exactly like in an eclipse! It is a graphic, innovative wall light that lets you play with and change your lighting. Ingo Maurer likes to allow users to give free rein to their imagination, and this creation is no exception.
The Eclipse Ellipse Wall Light is a sleek and modern piece that I love for its clean lines and sculptural form, making it a versatile addition to various interiors. Its soft, diffused light works well in contemporary spaces like minimalist apartments or stylish offices, adding subtle illumination without overpowering the design. For styling tips, consider placing it in pairs for symmetry or above a feature console to highlight architectural details. Its understated elegance means it pairs beautifully with neutral palettes, but it can also serve as a statement piece in more eclectic settings. Practical and visually appealing, it’s an excellent choice for anyone wanting a blend of form and function.
