Black History Month 2022 collection In celebration of Black History Month 2022, alongside EAST END PRINTS, John Lewis have curated a selection of works by Black artists. The collection champions creativity and explores gorgeous new work by Hali Igwelaezoh, Layover Art and Sumuyya Khader. Every time you buy a print from our Black History Month collection, you are helping to support a community of artists who create beautiful art for your space. Bring your wall to life with this vibrant abstract landscape by Sumuyya Khader. The giclée art printing process and 210gsm acid-free archival paper create an exhibition-quality art print with long-lasting colours that more closely resemble the artist's materials and tones. A digital form of the original work is stored and then printed using a commercial printer and pigment-based inks. The print is presented with an acrylic glaze that's optically the same as glass yet lighter in weight making it easier and safer to hang. Ready to hang on your wall, it's framed in obeche wood in a choice of finishes. Artist Sumuyya Khader works with major institutions, projects, publishers, social enterprises and artist-led groups. Her practice is a combination of illustration, drawing and print works that predominantly explore place and identity. She set up Granby Press, a community-based organisation with a focus on printed material and design while also developing an archive of black culture and history in the L8 area of Liverpool. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings? EAST END PRINTS picture frames are usually one of two frame widths: medium frame (2.2cm) and wide frame (3.5cm). The frame width varies across the range. The medium frame measures 2.2cm across and comes in the following four sizes: 33.4 x 28.4cm 43.4 x 33.4cm 53.4 x 43.4cm 83.4 x 63.4cm The wide frame measures 3.5cm across and comes in the following four sizes: 36 x 31cm 46 x 36cm 56 x 46cm 86 x 66cm
The East End Prints Sumuyya Khader 'Abstract I' is a vibrant and contemporary piece that adds a pop of colour and energy to any space. I love how it combines rich, bold tones with abstract shapes, making it versatile for various interiors-from modern and minimalist to eclectic and bohemian. It works particularly well when paired with neutral walls to let the colours stand out, or in a gallery wall of smaller artworks for a curated look. For practical styling, try placing it above a sofa or sideboard, or as a focal point in a hallway. Framing it in natural wood, as shown, keeps the look fresh and current, but it can also be faced in black or white for more contrast depending on your aesthetic.
