Black History Month 2022 collection In celebration of Black History Month 2022, alongside EAST END PRINTS, John Lewis have curated a selection of works by Black artists. The collection champions creativity and explores gorgeous new work by Hali Igwelaezoh, Layover Art and Sumuyya Khader. Every time you buy a print from our Black History Month collection, you are helping to support a community of artists who create beautiful art for your space. Bring a summery feel to your walls with this portrait print by artist Sofia Doudine. The giclée art printing process and 210gsm acid-free archival paper create an exhibition-quality art print with long-lasting colours that more closely resemble the artist's materials and tones. A digital form of the original work is stored and then printed using a commercial printer and pigment-based inks. The print is presented with an acrylic glaze that's optically the same as glass yet lighter in weight making it easier and safer to hang. Ready to hang on your wall, it's framed in obeche wood in a choice of finishes. Hali Igwelaezoh is a Nigerian-born, London-based artist and creator who works predominantly through illustration, painting, photography and sculpture. Illustration is her primary medium, with a focus on themes related to culture and femininity. Hali enjoys taking inspiration from several things in life; people, everyday objects, feelings and spirituality to name a few things. Many of her works explore the simplicity and beauty of human form and positioning; movement, expression, themes of softness, still life, and sentimental objects are just a few of the inspirations she draws from. Her work is usually created with thin, fine line-work or abstract visuals, while using natural palettes. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings?
I love this one for adding a pops of colour and a modern edge to both contemporary and eclectic interiors. It works particularly well in spaces with warm neutrals or darker hues, where its vibrant palette can really stand out. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with minimal accessories to let the artwork speak for itself, or combine with other prints that share similar colours for a cohesive gallery wall. It’s also versatile enough to be placed in bedrooms, living rooms, or even hallways, bringing a lively and fresh vibe to everyday spaces. The framed print’s bold colours and playful silhouette make it an instant focal point that refreshes an interior without overwhelming it.
