Description

Could there be a more gentle giant than Rachel Lee's beautiful technicolour floral 'Gorilla', perfect for a nature lover's bedroom wall? The giclée art printing process and 210gsm acid-free archival paper create an exhibition-quality art print with long-lasting colours that more closely resemble the artist's materials and tones. A digital form of the original work is stored and then printed using a commercial printer and pigment-based inks. The print is presented with an acrylic glaze that's optically the same as glass yet lighter in weight, making it easier and safer to hang. Ready to hang on your wall, it's made in the UK and framed in obeche wood in a choice of finishes. Rachel Lee is a Sydney-based illustrator originally from Hong Kong. She is inspired by nature and wildlife and creates art with a modern take on Mid-century folk art. Being a mother of two children, colour and vibrancy run through her work. She takes inspiration from her kids, along with a love of travelling and dogs. Have you thought about wall hooks and fittings? EAST END PRINTS picture frames are usually one of two frame widths: medium frame (2.2cm) and wide frame (3.5cm). The frame width varies across the range. The medium frame measures 2.2cm across and comes in the following four sizes: 33.4 x 28.4cm 43.4 x 33.4cm 53.4 x 43.4cm 83.4 x 63.4cm The wide frame measures 3.5cm across and comes in the following four sizes: 36 x 31cm 46 x 36cm 56 x 46cm 86 x 66cm

Our Stylist Says

I love this gorilla print for its playful and contemporary vibe, making it a versatile piece for various interiors. It works particularly well in eclectic, modern, or kids’ rooms, where its colourful, graphic style can add character and a touch of fun. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral or muted backgrounds to let the artwork stand out, or use it as a statement piece in a gallery wall with other bold prints. Practical tips include placing it at eye level in a well-lit spot or layering it with other artwork in a living space to create an inviting, curated look. Its vibrant palette also makes it adaptable to both minimalist and more maximalist interiors, adding personality without overwhelming the space.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
