Dream of summer days with this bright and colourful ice cream-inspired print by Alice Straker. The giclée art printing process and 210gsm acid-free archival paper create an exhibition-quality art print with long-lasting colours that more closely resemble the artist's materials and tones. A digital form of the original work is stored and then printed using a commercial printer and pigment-based inks. The print is presented with an acrylic glaze that's optically the same as glass yet lighter in weight making it easier and safer to hang. Ready to hang on your wall, it's framed in obeche wood in a choice of finishes. Alice Straker is a London-based artist and designer. Her paintings are thickly textured and use an uplifting colour palette which makes them sing from the walls. Alice works with a range of mediums and tools including acrylic, oils, pastels, palette knives and brushes, to create highly original paintings. Alice draws inspiration from her family's love of cooking and her twin brother is a chef. Her degree was in Art History and she has a penchant for colour theory. Her artist heroes include Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and Gillian Ayres. I love this print because it combines bold, playful imagery with a contemporary colour palette, making it a versatile piece. It works particularly well in modern or eclectic interiors, where a pop of colour and a touch of whimsy are welcome. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral walls to let the artwork really stand out, or mixing it with other prints featuring similar blue tones for a cohesive look. It’s also great above a minimalist sideboard or in a relaxed living space to add a quirky focal point without overwhelming the room.
