Description

Offering superb comfort, the leather EA 118 Swivel Office Chair is the ultimate seating for any modern workspace, designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1958.Part of the iconic Eames Aluminium Group, this EA 118 Swivel Office Chair is one of the task chairs that makes up this range, originally designed by Charles and Ray Eames for an art collector's private residence. A departure from their signature seat-shell style, these designs were leather and fabric stretched between an aluminium frame to create comfortable seating without elaborate upholstery. Upholstered in an array of colours, the EA 118 is covered with Vitra leather: a robust cowhide, embossed with an even grain pattern for an easily maintained finish. Characterised by a curved backrest for added comfort, the EA 118 swivels for simple manoeuvring and has a specifically designed tilt mechanism that can be adjusted to the weight of the user for optimum comfort. With a narrower seat and adjusted sitting position, the leather EA 118 is the perfect chair for table-oriented activities.

Our Stylist Says

I love the EA 118 Swivel Office Chair for its sleek, timeless leather finish and its ergonomic design, making it both stylish and practical. It works particularly well in modern, minimalist, or mid-century inspired interiors, where its clean lines and understated elegance can stand out without overwhelming the space. For styling, consider pairing it with a neutral-toned desk or a textured rug to soften the look, and add pops of colour or metallic accents in surrounding accessories to create visual interest. This chair also lends itself to contemporary and professional settings but can easily be integrated into home offices for a smart, comfortable workspace that maintains a refined aesthetic.
