One piece mattresses are supplied with drop middle firm edge pocket divans to prevent any feeling of a firm ridge in the middle of the bed, while pairs of mattresses, zip and link mattresses for example, are supplied with firm edge all round divan bases, allowing them to be separated to twin beds when required.
