Description

The Duet Chair is designed by Neri & Hu for De La Espada, named for the two flowing lines of timber that form the chair's inviting shape. Originally conceived as a variation on the classic Thonet bent-wood tradition, the Dute Chair is formed from a series of carved wood components creating the appearance of continuous curves. The visible join lines and complex grain patterns reveal the subtle complexity of the chair's construction. Founded in 2004 by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, Neri & Hu is an inter-disciplinary, award-winning architectural house with a difference. Encouraging Chinese designers to step out of the box and realise their full potential, Neri & Hu strives to find alternatives to the norm.

Our Stylist Says

I love the simplicity and natural charm of this chair; the combination of canvas and Danish oiled walnut gives it a warm, accessible feel that works well in both modern and classic interiors. It’s an adaptable piece, ideal for contemporary dining rooms, Scandinavian-inspired schemes, or even more eclectic spaces where natural textures are key. To style it effectively, consider pairing with a neutral table setting to highlight the wood’s richness, or add colourful cushions to the seat for a bit of personality. The Danish oiled walnut finish lends itself well to layered textures and earthy tones, making it a versatile, practical choice for anyone looking to introduce timeless craftsmanship into their space.
