Description

Handmade in Dorset with carefully hand-rolled edges, our collection of classic velvet shades feature a mid-century inspired drum shape, with a soft duck egg exterior and a striking shiny gold inner. Available in a variety of sizes, these velvet shades can be styled with ceiling lights, table lamps and floor lamps.

Our Stylist Says

I love the soft, muted tone of this duck egg velvet shade - it adds a subtle touch of colour without overpowering a space. Its 14-inch size makes it versatile, ideal for both table lamps and pendant lights in cosy living rooms or bedrooms. The velvet finish brings a sense of richness and texture, elevating simple interiors with a bit of luxe. It works particularly well in Scandinavian-inspired schemes, vintage-inspired spaces, or even modern minimalism when you want a soft visual interest. Practical styling tips include pairing it with brass or gold accents for warmth, or using it in layered lighting setups to create a warm, inviting glow. Just be mindful to balance it with understated furniture to let the shade be the feature.

About Graham & Green

Founded in 1974, Graham & Green are a family business that started in Notting Hill, and have many pieces that bring touch of individuality and character to any space.

The Inception of a Lifestyle Brand

In 1974, Antonia started Graham & Green after a trip to India. She wanted to be independent and worked with traders from different countries. This led her to create the UK's first 'lifestyle' brand, bringing unique home items from places like India, Morocco, and Europe.

The first Graham & Green store opened in Notting Hill in 1974, showcasing Antonia's special collection of items from around the world. You can still visit this original store on Elgin Crescent today.

Evolution through Generations

Graham & Green has a rich history full of important moments. In 1980, they started creating hand-drawn mail-order catalogues to share their store's charm with more people.

They opened a new store in Primrose Hill in 1994, reflecting the brand's playful and free nature.

Antonia's son, Jamie, took a creative lead in 1998. Having studied at Kingston University, he began designing unique furniture collections, shifting Graham & Green from not only importing items but also creating them.

Then, in 1999, Graham & Green launched their first website, allowing people all across the UK to shop their collections online.

Milestones and Memories

Over time, Graham & Green has marked its journey with special products, like unique Birthday items with lovebird designs. After Antonia led the brand for 37 years, Jamie and Lou took over, pushing Graham & Green to grow even more.

They opened big stores in Bayswater and Bath in 2016. By 2018, Graham & Green updated their website to keep it modern and stylish for their customers.
