Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSW Plastic Side Chair in sunlight yellow is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature golden maple 'Eiffel' base, minimalist seat and a refreshed colour palette that pays homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging aspirations of the future. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking solid maple wood and wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSW Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

This yellow plastic side chair is a fantastic way to add a pop of colour to any dining space. I love its sleek, modern silhouette combined with the natural wooden legs, which makes it versatile enough to work well in both contemporary and Scandinavian-inspired interiors. It’s particularly great for casual dining areas or breakfast nooks, where comfort and practicality are key. For styling tips, try pairing it with a neutral-toned table to really make the colour stand out, or mix and match with other vibrant hues for a playful look. Its lightweight design also makes it easy to rearrange, making it perfect for flexible dining spaces or even as occasional seating elsewhere in the home.
