Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSW Plastic Side Chair in sea blue is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature golden maple 'Eiffel' base, minimalist seat and a refreshed colour palette that pays homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging aspirations of the future. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking solid maple wood and wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSW Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this blue and gold dining chair for its modern yet versatile aesthetic. The plastic seat in sea blue adds a fresh pop of colour, making it perfect for contemporary interiors or as a statement piece in more neutral schemes. The warm golden maple legs introduce a touch of warmth and sophistication, helping the chair fit seamlessly into both minimalist and eclectic dining spaces. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a glass or wooden table to enhance its colours, or mixing with softer textiles like cushions or placemats for a more relaxed look. Its sleek design and colour combination make it a great option for bringing a contemporary edge to your dining area without compromising comfort.
