Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSW Plastic Side Chair in rusty orange is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature 'Eiffel' base, updated honey-tone ash legs and a refreshed colour palette for 2019. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking solid wood and wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSW Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this colourful plastic side chair for its bold yet versatile colour combo-rusty orange and honey tone ash-that adds warmth and personality to any dining space. It works particularly well in modern, eclectic, or Scandinavian interiors where playful contrasts and natural textures are key. A great styling tip is to pair it with simple, neutral-toned tableware to let the chair really stand out; you could also mix and match with other chairs in complementary shades for a more eclectic look. Its practical, wipe-clean surface makes it ideal for everyday dining, while the contemporary shape brings a fresh, edgy vibe to both casual and more polished interiors.
