Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DSW Plastic Side Chair in pale rose is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature golden maple 'Eiffel' base, minimalist seat and a refreshed colour palette that pays homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging aspirations of the future. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking solid maple wood and wire base with cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSW Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

This pale rose & golden maple plastic side chair is a versatile choice with a soft, contemporary look that works particularly well in light-filled dining spaces or modern kitchens. I love how its muted colour palette introduces a subtle touch of colour without overwhelming a room, making it suitable for both casual and more polished interiors. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a wooden or marble table for contrast, or adding textured seat pads for extra comfort. Its clean, minimalist design also makes it ideal for eclectic interiors, where it can be combined with other statement pieces or vintage finds to create a thoughtfully curated look.
