Description

Originally launched in 1950, the Eameses' DSW Fiberglass Side Chair introduced the idea of the multifunctional chair, featuring shells that could be combined with a variety of bases, and soon became one of the best-known furniture pieces of the twentieth century. An organic yet contemporary form, the DSW Chair's shell displays the characteristic irregular surface of Fiberglass, which appears almost like a natural material thanks to its clearly visible fibres. The seat rests upon a solid dark maple base with steel 'Eiffel' cross struts and features rubber shock mounts to support longer periods of sitting down. In continual development for the modern user, Vitra has revised the geometry of the seat to achieve optimum ergonomics and comfort. Our Stylist Says

This plastic side chair in petrol moor brown, sea foam green, and dark maple is a versatile choice that works well in both contemporary and eclectic interiors. I love its vibrant colour palette, which offers a fresh, modern twist on traditional dining seating. It’s perfect for adding a pop of colour without overwhelming the space, making it ideal for kitchens or dining rooms that feature neutral bases. Style tips include pairing it with a minimalist black or wood dining table to highlight the colour contrast, or mixing different shades for an expressive, layered look. Its simplicity allows it to sit comfortably in various interior styles, from Scandinavian to industrial, while its durable plastic construction ensures it’s practical for everyday use.
