Description

The DSR Plastic Side Chair by Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra showcases the signature 'Eiffel' base, refreshed with white powder coating for 2020.An instantly recognisable piece, the outdoor-friendly chair features a recyclable dyed-through polypropylene shell for greater comfort. It is seated on a chromed wire base with cross struts and rubber shock mounts for support and stability. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DSR's organic shape led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimal ergonomics.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this side chair because of its bold colour combo-rusty orange and white-that adds a fresh, contemporary touch to dining spaces. It works particularly well in eclectic or modern interiors where a pop of colour can instantly lift the overall look. Stylists might suggest pairing it with neutral-toned tables or mixing it with other colourful accents for an eclectic vibe. Practical tips include using a clear or minimalist table to emphasise the chair’s design and considering its durability for everyday use, especially if you have a busy family home. Its sculptural form also makes it a stylish statement piece, perfect for creating a lively, inviting dining area.
