Description

The Drio oak double platform bed frame is a statement, solid oak design with a planked headboard and a surround that gives it a floating appearance. The contemporary bed's headboard is gently reclined for comfort when sitting up in bed and its base has gently rounded edges. Made in Europe and exclusive to Habitat, the bed frame fits a standard UK 150cm king sized mattress and is part of the extensive Drio range and protected by an ecologically friendly, water-based, clear lacquer.

Our Stylist Says

I love the simple, natural aesthetic of this oak double bed frame, which works especially well in Scandi-inspired or minimalist interiors. Its clean lines and light wood tone create a calm, airy feel, making it versatile across various colour schemes. For styling tips, consider pairing it with neutral or soft-toned bedding to enhance its natural look, or add textured throws and cushions for a cosy touch. The minimal design also means it pairs effortlessly with both modern and more traditional decor, allowing flexibility in how you personalise your space. Practical and understated, it's ideal for creating a tranquil bedroom retreat.

About Habitat

Founded in 1964, Habitat are a renowned brand, and a go-to destination for modern and stylish furniture and home accessories.

The Birth of Habitat

In 1964, Sir Terence Conran founded Habitat in London, aiming to bring a fresh European touch to UK home decor.

The first store, located on Fulham Road in Chelsea, became the blueprint for all Habitat stores to come. The store stood out with its distinct design, and was famously known for selling affordable pasta storage jars just as the pasta market began booming in the UK.

Rapid Expansion & Legacy

Habitat grew swiftly in the UK during the 1960s and even crossed borders with its first international store in Paris in 1973.

The brand's journey through the decades saw various mergers and acquisitions, including its integration with Sainsbury's Group in 2017.

Habitat's innovation extended beyond products; they even launched a mail-order system in 1966 and initiated the concept of flat-pack furniture in 1971.

Celebrating its rich history, the brand marked its 50th anniversary in 2014 by collaborating with past designers and commissioning a special logo.

Innovation & Collaboration

Habitat has always been at the forefront of modern design. Throughout its history, the brand has been renowned for its collaborations with acclaimed artists and designers, ensuring it consistently offers unique, limited-edition collections.

Under the umbrella of the Sainsbury's Group since 2017, Habitat continues its tradition of merging contemporary aesthetics with functional design, solidifying its reputation as a leading name in home furnishings.
