Description

Douglas Outdoor Wall Light with Frosted Glass Panels, Black

Our Stylist Says

This wall light is a great choice for adding subtle, unobtrusive illumination to outdoor spaces. I love how the frosted glass panels diffuse the light evenly, creating a warm, inviting glow without harsh glare. Its sleek black finish makes it versatile, working well with both traditional brick exteriors and modernised facades. For styling tips, consider placing it near a front door or along a porch to enhance curb appeal while ensuring practical safety lighting. It pairs beautifully with minimalistic or darker-toned outdoor furniture, and its straightforward design allows it to blend seamlessly into a variety of exterior aesthetics. Keep in mind, this is a practical piece that’s as much about durability as it is style, so it’s ideal for those seeking both function and understated elegance.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
