Description

A modern take on the classic lantern design, the Douglas Outdoor Wall Light adds a gorgeous decorative lighting touch to your entryway or porch. This wall lantern has a sleek black finish and gorgeous frosted glass panels that beautifully diffuse a warm glow outside your home. This light is both stylish and practical as it has an IP rating of 44, meaning that it is suitably protected against most outdoor weather conditions.

Our Stylist Says

I love the simplicity and versatility of this outdoor wall light. The black finish paired with frosted glass panels gives it a sleek, modern look that works well with contemporary or minimalist exteriors, but it can also add a nice touch to more traditional settings when paired thoughtfully. It’s practical for lighting pathways, doorways, or patio areas because the frosted glass diffuses the light evenly, reducing glare. When styling, consider balancing its clean lines with warm textures or natural materials nearby, like timber or stone, to soften the overall look. Additionally, this light’s understated design makes it easy to incorporate into a variety of outdoor schemes without overpowering other elements in the space.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
