Designed in 1951 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames, the DKW Wire Chair is an instantly recognisable piece, showcasing the signature 'Eiffel' base in dark maple with a leather upholstered wire frame. Reflecting the form of the archetypal Eames Plastic Chair, the DKW is a reimagination of the fluid plastic frame in spot-welded black powder-coated wire, awarding it a transparent, industrial-inspired aesthetic. Accented with Vitra leather upholstery, the DKW Wire chair is awarded superior comfort and softness with a robust cowhide covering, pigmented and embossed for an impeccable finish. Elevated on the signature cross-strut base, the technical appearance of the wire shell is counterbalanced with the warmth of four lightly rounded maple legs, black-stained to complement the basic dark frame.
