Description
This 5 Tier Shelving Unit consists of 5 generously sized shelves connected using handmade cast iron piping and finished off with vintage detailing and custom made castors. Each shelf is made from solid reclaimed wood and the unit comes fully assembled. It can even be used as a creative way to divide. District Eight Design sources its cast iron from imported vintage machine parts, primarily Japanese weaving looms. These parts are sorted into salvageable components with the rest being melted down and recreated as table legs through hand laid sand-casting. Minor imperfections from this process add to the authenticity and uniqueness of the finished piece. All castings at District Eight are produced from 100% authentic recycled material, which are then electrochemically treated against corrosion, blackened, waxed and oiled to give each piece its own individuality.

In 2013, Daniel Fairburn decided to change how we buy furniture. Using his savings and a loan, he started Out & Out Original. He didn't have shops, but with the help of the internet, he showcased his furniture online. Their first sale? Two deckchairs to a man in Somerset.
