The District Eight Breakfast bar stool collection compliments the District Eight range perfectly. The hand braised metal joinery only possible from District Eight's team of specialised craftsman combines with original cast iron collars and an adjustable seat to create something truly original. This model comes with beautifully hand turned and stained African Sapele wood and includes a pressed steel asjustable backrest. District Eight Design sources its cast iron from imported vintage machine parts, primarily Japanese weaving looms. These parts are sorted into salvageable components with the rest being melted down and recreated as table legs through hand laid sand-casting. Minor imperfections from this process add to the authenticity and uniqueness of the finished piece. All castings at District Eight are produced from 100% authentic recycled material, which are then electrochemically treated against corrosion, blackened, waxed and oiled to give each piece its own individuality.
I really like the District 8 adjustable stool for its simple yet versatile design. The wooden seat adds warmth and texture, making it suitable for both contemporary and rustic interiors. It works particularly well in industrial-style kitchens or home bars, where the mix of wood and metal can be showcased as a focal point. Practical tips include pairing it with a reclaimed wood counter or a marble surface for contrast, and utilise its height adjustment to ensure maximum comfort at different workstations or bar heights. Its adjustable feature means it can easily adapt to various settings, making it a flexible piece for casual or more eclectic spaces.
