Discovery LED Pendant - / Ø 70 cm- Connected smartphone app by Artemide Transparent

The lighting can be controlled by bluetooth using a smartphone app (free to download on Apple Store & Google play). Using the Artemide app, you can turn the light on and off, dim the lamp, create endless lighting scenarios for your home. Discovery is an almost invisible, intangible pendant that transforms and reveals itself once the light is on! It consists of a large flat disk made of transparent PMMA (Ø 70 cm), circled with a profiled aluminium frame, extremely fine and light. LED strips inside the aluminium ring project their light into the transparent central disk, and its surface lights up evenly. Once lit, the light takes up the middle section that was previously transparent. The inside of the pendant appears as if by magic, and metamorphoses from non-existent to this full and regular surface of light. This extraordinary result is obtained thanks to micro-incisions on the transparent disk that are almost invisible to the naked eye when the lamp is switched off. Their geometry and placement have been carefully calculated to obtain a constant emission, as well as a precise and timely light aura, according to a flow balance in relation to the emitting surface, guaranteeing perfect visual comfort. The Discovery pendant is an original development based on an optical principle made possible thanks to the technological expertise of Artemide and its in-depth understanding of light which is shown in the way it controls its interaction with material as well as in the very specific attention to detail paid to the finish and the quality of its perception. The technical innovation resides in the quality of the light cast from the transparent surface.
