Description
Handmade from natural rattan, the Chester cane coffee table from Desser features open cane webbing panels and top, creating an attractive and practical piece for the living room or conservatory. The rectangular table has sturdy pole legs, a handy drawer and complements matching rattan furniture in the Chester range. Strong and durable, natural rattan is low maintenance and easy to keep clean. Wipe the furniture clean with a dry cloth or a slightly damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Keep the furniture in a dry environment and avoid leaving it under direct sunlight for prolonged periods. The furniture’s colour lasts longer if moved around a conservatory regularly to protect it from direct sun in the same spot. Sustainably sourced in Indonesia, rattan is fast-growing compared to wood alternatives and, as a companion crop, its farming encourages the preservation of forests. Every part of the rattan vine is used. Outer rattan cane is used for attractive weaving and the solid core is steamed to manipulate it into beautiful furniture shapes.

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.
