Description

Denby's Kiln range is a true celebration of British craftsmanship. Soft, tranquil and serene, it's designed to be subtle and embrace the link with nature and biophilic design. Each piece is finished by hand with a reactive ombre glaze which makes each item unique. The shape of this small bottle vase is inspired by the early Salt glaze bottles produced by Denby in the late 19th century. Its miniature form makes it perfect for displaying a single stem. It comes presented in a contemporary Denby gift box so whether you're treating yourself or someone else it's something special. Each piece of Denby stoneware is handcrafted using pottery techniques passed down through generations and can pass through as many as 20 pairs of hands during the making process. Every item of pottery is expertly glazed by skilled craftsmen and the distinctive glazes are renowned for their practicality and durability.

Our Stylist Says

I really like this Denby Kiln Bottle Vase for its simple, understated elegance. Its muted green tone and matte finish make it versatile, working well in both modern minimalist and rustic interiors. I would suggest pairing it with fresh or dried stems to add a natural touch, though it also looks striking on its own as a sculptural piece. Practical styling tips include placing it on a shelf or side table, where its compact size won’t dominate but still adds colour and texture. It’s ideal for creating focal points in smaller spaces or complementing a neutral colour palette with a hint of colour and subtle interest.

About John Lewis

Founded in 1864, John Lewis is a trusted and beloved brand where you can find a diverse range of furniture for every style and budget, alongside finding the perfect item that reflects your personal taste.

A Legacy of Innovation and Inclusion

John Lewis started as a small shop on London's Oxford Street in 1864. Today, it's part of a bigger family called the John Lewis Partnership, which also includes Waitrose stores.

What makes them special is that they're owned by their employees, known as 'Partners'. The idea, from the beginning, was to give everyone a say in how the business was run. With over 74,000 Partners (employees) at the heart of its operations, the essence of John Lewis's vision, from over a century ago, still echoes today being the largest employee-owned venture.

Adapting to Changing Times

Like many stores, John Lewis has had to change with the times. They've closed some shops but have grown their online business a lot, especially when more people started shopping online during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Their history is filled with key moments, like buying Peter Jones in 1905, adding Waitrose in 1937, and starting their website in 2001. They've always tried to adapt and stay relevant.

Commitment to a Greater Purpose

John Lewis believes in doing good and making the world a better place. This is seen in the way they treat their employees and customers. For example, in 2021, they were the first big UK store to give parents six months paid leave when they have a baby and two weeks paid leave if they lose a pregnancy. They've been around for over a century and always aim to do the right thing by everyone.
