I’m a fan of the Delancy coffee table for its clean, mid-century silhouette and warm brown oak finish - it brings a timeless feel without dominating the room. Its slender legs and oval top slot neatly into both compact city flats and larger open-plan living areas, especially those leaning towards Scandi, retro or contemporary schemes. To style it, keep clutter to a minimum: a simple ceramic vase with fresh foliage, a small stack of design books and a tray for remotes or coasters. The wood grain pairs nicely with soft textiles (think a neutral wool rug or boucle pouffe) and metal accents like a brass lamp or matte-black candleholders.

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Sustainability at the Forefront
From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.
Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.
Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.
