Alessandro Mendini (1931-2019) was a leading figure in Italian design protest. He is considered the father of post-modernism. Zanotta is reissuing some of Alessandro Mendini's historic pieces: an exciting rediscovery of the legacy of Italian design. Thanks to a collaboration between Zanotta and the designer's heirs, supported by the know-how of experts, it has been possible to give new life to emblematic pieces that marked their era.
This vase by Mendini is a striking piece that works exceptionally well in modern or minimalist interiors, thanks to its clean, white ceramic finish and playful, sculptural form. I love how it acts as both a functional vessel and a statement sculpture, adding visual interest even when empty. It’s versatile enough to sit on a coffee table, sideboard, or bookshelf - particularly in contemporary settings that appreciate design history. For practical styling, consider grouping it with other monochrome or textured accessories, or use it to showcase a few simple stems for a subtly elegant touch. Its bold silhouette can also be a focal point in an uncluttered, airy space, making it a real design statement while remaining understated.
