The starting point of Aaro was a gesture – a movement – as the designer wanted to create a fluid motion that immediately lead him to the sphere. With a sphere as a joint, they are no limited directions, it has no left or right, nor does it have a top or bottom. So, with the sphere as the defining element of this piece, everything else revolved around it: the geometry, the balance and the friction. It all comes down to the sphere, visually pointing at it. The end result is an object that seems to be moved by the wind. It revolves effortless around its centrepiece, like planets orbiting around each other.
I love the sleek, contemporary feel of the Aaro lamp - its minimal black finish makes it versatile for a range of interiors. It works particularly well in modern or industrial spaces, but can also add a touch of understated sophistication to a more eclectic setting. Practical styling tips include placing it on a bedside table or a desk where its adjustable arm and focused LED allow for customised lighting, perfect for work or reading. Its slim profile also means it won’t take up too much space, making it ideal for smaller rooms or cluttered surfaces. Overall, Aaro combines functional design with a clean aesthetic, making it a great statement piece in any interior.
