Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DAX Plastic Armchair in a sunlight yellow hue showcases a visually understated chrome base and a refreshed colour palette for 2019, paying homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging future aspirations. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a chrome-plated four-legged tubular steel base for a refined and elegant finish. One of the first industrially produced plastic chairs, the DAX Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this sunlit yellow chair for adding a cheerful focal point to dining or casual spaces. The combination of plastic and chrome gives it a modern, lightweight look that works well in both contemporary and eclectic interiors. It’s especially effective when paired with neutral table settings or other bold colours, making it versatile enough for kitchens, breakfast nooks, or even in a stylish home office. Practical styling tips include grouping several together for a lively dining arrangement or mixing with softer textures like upholstered cushions or woven baskets to soften the overall look. Its playful shape and vibrant hue make it a statement piece that can lift the mood of any room.
