Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DAX Plastic Armchair in a pale rose showcases a visually understated dark base and a refreshed colour palette for 2019, paying homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging future aspirations. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a dark four-legged tubular steel base for a refined and elegant finish. One of the first industrially produced plastic chairs, the DAX Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love the pale rose and dark colour combo on this chair - it's a sleek, contemporary choice that adds a subtle pop of colour without overpowering the space. It works best in modern or minimalist interiors, where its clean lines and soft hues can stand out as a statement piece. Practical styling tips include pairing it with a black or neutral table to make the colours pop, or stacking with other muted tones in a mixed-material scheme. Plus, its durable plastic construction lends itself well to everyday use, making it both stylish and practical for dining rooms or casual seating areas.
