Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DAW Plastic Armchair showcases the signature ‘Eiffel’ base, golden maple legs and a minimalist cream seat. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking base with black steel cross struts and elegant golden maple legs. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DAW has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its bold colour combination and modern yet versatile style. The rusty orange hue paired with the golden maple finish makes it a statement piece that can work well in both contemporary and eclectic interiors. It's particularly effective when paired with neutral tones to add warmth, or with other rich colours for a more layered look. Practical styling tips include contrasting it with dark or textured tabletops, or using it as a pop of colour against a minimalist backdrop. Its sculptural shape makes it ideal for adding personality to dining spaces, and the natural wood legs keep it grounded, offering a nice blend of playful and sophisticated.
