Description

Designed in 1950 by iconic duo Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra, the DAR Plastic Armchair in a pale rose hue showcases the signature 'Eiffel' chrome base and a refreshed colour palette for 2019, paying homage to the model's original colour history while acknowledging future aspirations. Crafted from recyclable dyed-through polypropylene for greater comfort, the seat sits on a striking chrome-plated wire base with cross struts. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DAR Chair has a simple and organic shape that has led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimum ergonomics and comfort.

Our Stylist Says

I love this pink chair for adding a subtle touch of colour and softness to a variety of interiors. Its pale rose hue makes it versatile enough for both contemporary and vintage-inspired spaces, especially when paired with metallic accents like the chrome legs. It works well in living rooms, bedrooms, or even as a statement piece in a dressing area. To style it effectively, consider keeping surrounding furniture neutral to let the colour stand out, and add textured cushions or throws for extra comfort. Its clean lines and modern silhouette make it especially suitable for minimalist schemes, but with the right accessories, it can also complement eclectic or soft glam décors.
