Description

The DAR Plastic Armchair by Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra showcases the signature wire base, refreshed with white powder coating for 2020. An instantly recognisable piece, the outdoor-friendly armchair features a recyclable dyed-through polypropylene shell for greater comfort. It is seated on a wire base with cross struts for support and stability. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DAR'sorganic shape led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimal ergonomics.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its playful yet versatile design. The sea blue and white palette makes it ideal for both modern and coastal-inspired interiors, adding a pop of colour without overwhelming the space. It's practical too, perfect for dining rooms or breakfast nooks where comfort meets style. To style it effectively, consider pairing it with a light wood or neutral-toned table to let the colours stand out. For a more eclectic look, mix and match with other chairs in similar shades or different textures to create visual interest. Its clean, simple lines make it adaptable across various design schemes, making it a functional yet stylish choice.
