Description

The DAR Plastic Armchair by Charles and Ray Eames for Vitra showcases the signature wire base, refreshed with white powder coating for 2020.An instantly recognisable piece, the outdoor-friendly armchair features a recyclable dyed-through polypropylene shell for greater comfort. It is seated on a wire base with cross struts for support and stability. The first industrially produced plastic chair, the DAR's organic shape led to its legendary status and universal appeal. Updated in 2016, Vitra added 2cm to the height of the chair and revised the geometry of the seat for optimal ergonomics.

Our Stylist Says

I love this chair for its bold, contemporary vibe and versatility. The rusty orange hue brings warmth and energy, making it a statement piece in a range of interiors. It works particularly well in modern, eclectic, or industrial kitchens and dining rooms, where its colour and design can add a pop of personality. Practical styling tips include pairing it with neutral or muted table settings to let the chair stand out, or mixing it with other colourful accessories for a playful look. Its sleek, minimalistic design also makes it easy to incorporate into multifunctional spaces, blending comfort with style effortlessly.
