I’m a fan of this dark mango-wood bookcase because its warm tones and simple lines work equally well in both contemporary and more traditional schemes. It’s a solid choice for a living room or study where you want a touch of rustic character without the bulk of closed cabinetry.
To style it, mix books with decorative objects - group a row of spines alongside a small plant or sculptural vase, and leave a little breathing space on each shelf. Use woven baskets on the lowest level to hide less photogenic bits and keep the overall look neat. Lighter-coloured ceramics or framed prints help break up the richness of the wood and keep the display feeling fresh.

In 1980, Chris Dawson set up a simple open-air market stall in Plymouth. By 1989, this entrepreneurial spirit led to the opening of the very first physical store on Billacombe Road, originally named "C.D.S. Superstores". However, in the early '90s, a rebranding took place, introducing "The Range" to the world.
Today, with a whopping 200+ stores across the UK, The Range boasts an impressive selection of over 65,000 products, spreading across 16 diverse departments, all dedicated to enhancing homes and lifestyles.
Chris Dawson, the brain behind The Range, held the CEO position from 1989 to 2017. With a flair for business, Chris's achievements haven't gone unnoticed. He was even ranked fifth in a survey of Britain's Top 100 Entrepreneurs.
Under his leadership, The Range has not only thrived locally but has also hinted at European expansion dreams, envisioning a staggering 1,000 stores across the continent.
