"Designer and architect Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) embodied modernity and the avant-garde throughout the 20th century. This metal wall light is a reissue of the original model designed by Charlotte Perriand in the 50s. Le Corbusier’s colleague favours simplicity and usability over luxury. Very innovative for the time, this metal wall light has a light blue cylindrical shutter which swivels. So you can direct the light flow with a simple wave of your hand. The movement of the shutter lets you direct the light and adjust its intensity, the beam being more or less wide depending on the opening. Charlotte Perriand's interest in pivoting screens reflects her observation of human actions: a simple touch lets you control and direct the light beam. Like Perriand’s furniture, her lamps are not stationary, but rotate and swivel to adapt to our needs. For Charlotte Perriand, lamps are not a decorative element added without reason, but a functional, technical component, a tool and an object to meet specific needs. Perriand's minimalist approach infuses her creations with a timeless character: these are the "useful forms" that resulted from the movement she co-founded in 1949. Fifty years after its creation, the Cylindrique wall light's modernity is surprising: this adjustable light is perfectly suited to a modern space. Its simple lines are timeless and classic. Finally reissued, this design classic is a must-have for all architecture fans. This wall light is equipped with an on/off switch (located on the side of the light). It can be positioned in 2 ways: horizontally or vertically.
