Description

The Crushed Velvet Throw in Silver is a stunning addition to a modern living room, bedroom, or garden seating area. This stylish crushed velvet throw adds a comforting and soft feel to your sofa or bed and helps to take off the chill on a cooler evening. This velvet blanket gorgeously adds to any styled room, whether a light neutral living room or dark scandi bedroom.

Our Stylist Says

I love this crushed velvet throw for adding instant luxe to a variety of interiors. Its rich silver hue and tactile texture work particularly well in modern, glam, or even transitional spaces. Draped over a bed or a sofa, it instantly elevates the look without feeling overly formal. For styling tips, consider pairing it with matte or matte-metallic accents; it provides a beautiful contrast against matte wall paints or wooden furniture. Practicality-wise, it’s a versatile piece that feels indulgent yet easy to layer, making it perfect for adding warmth and visual interest during colder months or when creating a layered, cosy scheme.

About BHS.com

Founded in 1928, BHS is a renowned brand that caters to various tastes and budgets. From modern to classic designs, BHS offers quality items that effortlessly elevate your decor.

Historical Roots

British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.

Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.

Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!

Expansion and Evolution

BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.

They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
