Our Stylist Says
This cross stitch cushion in taupe offers a subtle touch of texture and understated elegance, making it a versatile addition to many interiors. I love how its neutral tone and soft quilting can soften a sofa or bed, adding cosy comfort without overpowering the space. It works particularly well in neutral or minimalist schemes, but can also help introduce a tactile element into more colourful or patterned settings. Practical styling tips include pairing it with patterned cushions for a curated look or placing it in a layered arrangement on a bed for added depth. Its understated chic makes it a reliable choice for creating a relaxing, homely feel.

About BHS.com
Historical Roots
British Home Stores, known as BHS, was founded by a group of U.S. entrepreneurs with the goal of replicating the same success that was seen by Woolworths.
Their first store was on the streets of Brixton and the brand quickly gained popularity for its diverse offerings.
Over time, their range of products expanded to encompass not just clothing and household items, but also furniture, electronics, entertainment, and even beauty products. By the 1960's, BHS already had 94 stores across the nation!
Expansion and Evolution
BHS has always been on the cutting edge of retail trends! In the 1970s and 1980s, when indoor shopping centres were gaining popularity, BHS quickly adapted. Their collaboration with Sainsbury's led to the creation of SavaCentre hypermarkets, which offered a combined retail experience of both general merchandise and groceries.
They didn't limit themselves to the UK either. By 1985, BHS opened its doors in Gibraltar, marking its international debut. Significant milestones like the merger with Habitat and Mothercare in 1986 further shaped its success.
