Description

Design. With its chunky shape, natural finish and overhanging top, the Covington reclaimed wood coffee table embodies countryside chic style. Featuring a generously sized surface space, it looks stunning when dressed up with accessories, whilst the handy drawer provides essential storage for remote controls, coasters and more. Beautifully crafted from reclaimed and old conifer timbers, each table displays stunning markings and signs of its past life. Equally at home in traditional, modern or industrial interiors, it brings rustic charm to any living room.

Our Stylist Says

I love the Covington reclaimed wood coffee table for its warm, rustic charm and versatile design. Its sturdy build and natural wood finish make it an ideal addition to both country cottages and modern interiors seeking a touch of organic texture. It works particularly well in open-plan living spaces, paired with neutral upholstery or layered with cosy textiles to enhance its rustic appeal. Practical styling tips include keeping the surface relatively clear to highlight the wood’s grain, while adding a few thoughtfully chosen accessories-such as a stack of books, a small plant, or a candle-can create an inviting, lived-in vibe. Its simple, timeless design makes it a flexible piece that complements a variety of interior styles.

About Barker and Stonehouse

Founded in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse offer a diverse range of stylish and timeless pieces. From contemporary to traditional designs, Barker and Stonehouse brings sophistication and comfort to every room.

A Remarkable Journey

Born from the vision of two young RAF men, Charles Barker and Alex Stonehouse, Barker and Stonehouse emerged as a beacon of hope, infusing post-war Britain with a hint of glamour. Starting from a single store in Stockton on Tees, their entrepreneurial spirit led to rapid expansion, opening multiple stores across the region.

Their fast growth was fueled not only by their flair for business but also by their dedication to innovation. The business transformed over the years, adapting to the changing landscapes of retail, all while preserving its charm and values. By 2021, they marked an impressive 75 years in the industry, a testament to their enduring commitment to quality and customer service.

Sustainability at the Forefront

From the very start, Barker and Stonehouse has held a deep commitment to the environment. This devotion was showcased through initiatives such as the Trees4Trees Project, a reforestation effort in Indonesia.

Ensuring that for every tree used in their products, more than two were replanted, nearly 1.5 million trees have been restored under this initiative.

Their Knaresborough store, one of the greenest retail stores in the UK, further underscores their dedication to sustainable practices. As a cherry on top, by 2021, the company achieved the status of "Carbon Neutral Plus", making them a trailblazer in the furniture industry.

Innovative Spaces and Expanding Horizons

Over the decades, Barker and Stonehouse didn't just expand in number, but in the quality and innovation of their spaces. From opening their iconic store in Battersea, London, which beautifully preserved the characteristics of an old candle factory, to their latest state-of-the-art Gateshead store in 2023, every location tells a story.

They have also ventured into digital realms, ensuring a vast online presence and offering a wide range of products to customers all over the UK. Their partnerships, like the one with Fenwick in 2021, illustrate their adaptability and constant quest to reach new audiences.
