Cover by Thomas Bentz is from a desire to create a comfortable and contemporary armchair in wood. He aimed for a crisp and vivid expression in the plywood while looking for a solid and grounded look in the frame and base of the chair. Three years of play and hard work in the making has resulted in a light, yet strong armchair, playing and taking the molded veneer to its extreme.
I love this wooden armchair for its minimalist yet warm aesthetic, making it a versatile addition to a variety of interiors. Its natural wood finish lends itself well to Scandinavian, modern, or even rustic styles, adding a touch of subtle elegance without overpowering other design elements. Practically, it works well in dining rooms that aim for an understated look or in open-plan spaces where its clean lines help maintain a fresh and airy feel. For styling, consider pairing it with neutral-toned or textured tableware for a cohesive look, or add a cosy cushion to bring in colour and comfort without disrupting its streamlined form. It’s particularly effective when mixed with other natural materials like textiles or ceramics to create a balanced, inviting space.
