Inspired by traditional ceramic tile tables, the Couple coffee table collection offers up an elegant fusion of materials. The bases, made with solid FSC-certified oak, are topped with stunning tabletops in grès porcelain, a mineral material with an incredible touch finish. The traditional ceramic tiles have been enlarged and stretched to form large, rectangular and reversible tabletops that can be aligned side-by-side. On one side, the reversible tabletops are smooth and functional, whilst on the other side they feature an undulating surface with a sculptural dimension. By combining multiple tabletops together, you can create a play on different textures:Alternating between smooth surfaces and those sculpted by the undulations creating subtle texture, tracing strong and rhythmic lines. The Couple coffee table comes in several sizes: With 1 reversible tabletop (84.5 x 40 x H 40 cm), with 2 reversible tabletops (84.4 x 80 x H 40 cm), with 3 reversible tabletops (84.5 x 120 x H 35 cm). Belgian designer Sylvain Willenz explains: "The Couple coffee table originated from my research into this traditional and essential piece of furniture. I wanted to offer a new and subtle vision of these materials and this typology. I was inspired by the materiality of ceramic, like brick and terracotta, and I noticed that there's a beautiful synergy when it's combined with wood. I've always been drawn to the texture and I wanted a design with an intrinsically tactile nature, created by the granular touch of the surface of the ceramic tiles. The design of the Couple tables allows you to choose and combine smooth and undulated tiles. Thanks to its materials, finishes and elegant design details, the Couple coffee table subtly fuses together familiar furniture with avant-garde features."
